ڈاکٹر سیدہ نسیم سلطانہ کے بموجب ویرا ناری چاکلی ایلما ویمنس یونیورسٹی (VCIWU) کے شعبۂ اردو کے زیرِ اہتمام، نذیر احمد ایجوکیشنل اینڈ میموریل ٹرسٹ کے اشتراک سے "نذیر احمد میموریل لکچر” بعنوان: "مولوی علاء الدین اور طرے باز خان شہید (1857ء کے پہلی جنگِ آزادی کے مجاہدین)” کا آج کامیاب انعقاد عمل میں آیا۔
اس موقع پر پروفیسر عرشیہ جبین سنٹرل یونی ورسٹی حیدرآباد نے اپنی تحقیقی صلاحیتوں کو بروئے کار لاتے ہوئے بہترین لیکچرز کے ذریعے سامعین کو مستفید فرمایا۔ ڈاکٹر محمد شعیب احمد، فرزندِ شہید محمد نذیر احمد، نے اردو زبان کی بقاء و تحفظ کے ساتھ ساتھ مختلف تاریخی پہلوؤں کو اجاگر کیا۔
پروگرام کی صدارت خاندانِ آصف جاہی کے نویں نظام رونق یار خان نے انجام دی۔ جناب عبدالحمید شوکت، ایڈیٹر "جسٹس ٹائمز” نے اپنے زرّین خیالات کا اظہار کیا۔ عالی جناب مرتضیٰ فاروقی، ایڈوکیٹ ہائی کورٹ نے اپنے خطاب میں اردو زبان کے تحفظ پر زور دیا۔ جناب ریاض احمدسینئر صحافی روزنامہ "سیاست” نے برٹش ریزیڈنسی کی تاریخ کو دہراتے ہوئے سامعین کو روشناس کرایا۔ جناب شجیع اللہ فراست، ایڈیٹر روزنامہ "اعتماد” نے ریزیڈنسی کے تاریخی پہلوؤں کو اجاگر کیا۔

ڈاکٹر محمد کاشف حیدرآباد سنٹرل یونی ورسٹی نے شعبۂ اردو کو مبارکباد پیش کرتے ہوئے تمام اساتذہ اور طلبہ کی حوصلہ افزائی کی۔ اس موقع پر جنگِ آزادی کے شہداء کی یاد میں دو منٹ کی خاموشی اختیار کی گئی۔
اردو زبان کی بقاء اور تحفظ کے لیے بے لوث خدمات پر جناب محمد محمود علی سہیل (صدر آل انڈیا آئیڈیل ٹیچرز اسوسی ایشن) اور ڈاکٹر محمد شعیب احمد کو سندِ توصیف عطا کی گئی۔ شعبۂ اردو کی فیکلٹی ڈاکٹر غوثیہ بانو، ڈاکٹر ثمینہ بیگم اور ڈاکٹر محمد احتشام الحسن کو ان کی بے لوث تعلیمی خدمات پر سندِ توصیف پیش کی گئی۔
پروگرام میں اساتذہ، طلبہ، ممتاز سماجی کارکنوں اور میڈیا نمائندوں کی کثیر تعداد نے شرکت کی۔ اس موقع پر شعبۂ اردو میں کمپیوٹر سیکشن اور ویب سائٹ "ندائے نسیم” کا افتتاح بھی عمل میں آیا۔
On 19th August, the Department of Urdu, Women’s University (VCIWU), in collaboration with the Nazeer Ahmed Educational and Memorial Trust, successfully organized the “Nazeer Ahmed Memorial Lecture” on the topic: “Maulvi Allauddin and Turrebaz Khan Shaheed — Freedom Fighters of the First War of Independence, 1857.”
On this occasion, Prof. Arshia Jabeen enlightened the audience with her excellent lectures, highlighting her research expertise. Dr. Md. Shoaib Ahmed, son of Shaheed Md. Nazeer Ahmed, shed light on various historical aspects along with the importance of preserving and protecting the Urdu language.
The program was presided over by the 9th Nizam of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty himself. Mr. Abdul Hameed Shaukat, Editor of Justice Times, shared his valuable thoughts. Mr. Murtuza Farooqui, Advocate, High Court, emphasized the importance of protecting the Urdu language in his address. Mr. Riaz Ahmed, senior journalist of Siasat Daily, revisited the history of the British Residency, while Mr. Shajiullah Farast, Editor of Etimad Daily, highlighted its historical significance.
Dr. Md. Kashif congratulated the Department of Urdu and appreciated the efforts of faculty and students. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the First War of Independence.
For their selfless services towards the preservation of the Urdu language, Mr. Md. Mahmood Ali Sohail, President of the All India Ideal Teachers Association, and Dr. Md. Shoaib Ahmed were awarded Certificates of Appreciation. Faculty members Dr. Ghausia Banu, Dr. Sameena Begum, and Dr. Ehteshamul Hasan were also honored with Certificates of Appreciation for their dedicated educational services.
The event witnessed the active participation of teachers, students, eminent social activists, and media representatives. On this occasion, the Computer Section and the official website “Nida-e-Naseem” of the Department of Urdu were also inaugurated.
